Robert A. Richardson, Psy.D. has been a licensed psychologist in Georgia since 1996. He obtained a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Georgia in 1979, an M.Ed. in Special Education-Behavioral Disorders from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 1981, a Psy.D in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1994, and he completed a Clinical Internship at Chicago-Read Mental Health Center in Chicago. He completed the Post-Doctoral Psychopharmacology program through the University of Georgia's School of Pharmacy and Georgia State University's Graduate Program in Neuroscience in coordination with the Georgia Psychological Association. He spent seven years as a Clinical Director of Mental Health in the Georgia Department of Corrections and is now in full-time private practice. In addition, for 3 years, he was an adjunct faculty member at South University in the Master's Program of Professional Counseling. Since 2006, he has been an adjunct faculty member and student advisor teaching in the Psychology Department at Saint Leo University. Dr. Richardson is a member of the Georgia Psychological Association and the Association for the Development of the Person-Centered Approach. Dr. Richardson specializes in psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. He enjoys living in Savannah's historic district with his two pet dogs.
